The Brooklyn Nets will welcome the lowly-ranked Detroit Pistons for their next NBA regular season fixture. Brooklyn is faring much better than Detroit in the Eastern Conference and lies ninth in the standings while their soon-to-be visitors are bottom. The Nets will know that this is the perfect opportunity to end their current five-game losing streak. Jacque Vaughn’s men have hit a snug and this is the longest they have gone all season without a win. Their last two defeats have come at home with the latest seeing them lose by five to the Nuggets. This downward spiral now has them two games below .500. But with the Pistons in far worse shape, Brooklyn will be confident of victory here. The hosts have registered the majority of their 13 wins, 11, against fellow Eastern Conference teams. No recent injuries have been reported from their last outing.

The Detroit Pistons are currently in the longest losing streak in franchise history. The three-time NBA champions have lost 25 straight games. This is not only the longest losing streak this season but it is also the fourth longest in NBA history. Four more losses and they will set an NBA record. Monty Williams’ men have managed only two wins which came in back-to-back games in October. Detroit has the third-worst offence and is averaging 109 points a game. On defence, they are giving up 120.7 points a game to their opponents. The Jazz, who are struggling in the West, managed to score 119 against Detroit last time out away from home. Killian Hayes is a doubt for this game due to illness as is centre Jalen Duren who has an ankle issue.
