After a bright start to the season, the Brooklyn Nets have cooled off recently, suffering their fifth loss in six to the New York Knicks 114-104 on Monday morning. 

Cameron Johnson led the team with 22 points, but Brooklyn shot just 42% from the field and went 17 of 41 from long-range, as they went 15 points behind in the third quarter and never managed to close the deficit. 

The Nets are ranked 18th in points scored per game this season (111.4), but they are allowing 114.6 PPG (22nd in the league).

Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets lost their third match in the last four on Monday when they proved no match for the unbeaten Cavaliers, losing 128-114 on the road. 

LaMelo Ball was once again the standout performer for Charlotte, notching up 31 points and 12 assists, but the team went cold in the final quarter, scoring just 15 points. 

The Hornets are ranked 25th in the NBA this season for points per game scored (108.7), while they are 20th on the defensive end, allowing 113.9 PPG.
