Brazil and the United States are set to face off in the semi-final of the Women’s Volleyball competition at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Wednesday afternoon. The winner of this penultimate match will move on to the final where they will take on either Turkey or Italy. Let’s get into the prediction. 

Brazil will be looking to exact revenge for the heartbreak they suffered in Tokyo 2020 when their upcoming opponents beat them to the gold medal. 

They were the pick of teams during the group stage, taking the maximum nine points on offer while they are still the only side to not drop a single set so far here in Paris.

During the preliminaries, Canarinhas beat Kenya, Japan and Poland before powering past the Dominican Republic in the quarter-final, winning two of their three sets with fewer than 18 points conceded. They have now won eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions. 

Meanwhile, the defending champions qualified for the knockout rounds as the second-placed team in Pool A behind China, who beat them 3-2 in their opening match of the competition. 

Thereafter, Team USA claimed a 3-2 win over Serbia and overcame the French 3-0 before sending Poland packing from the Games with a straight-sets win in the quarter-final on Tuesday. 

With those results, the United States now also have a record of eight wins in their last 10 matches, though they did lose to this opponent 3-1 in their last encounter at the Nations league back in May.
