Brandon Nakashima vs Arthur Fils Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cincinnati Open

An unseeded player will make it into the last 16 of the Cincinnati Masters. Brandon Nakashima is back in the world's top 50 and he takes on Arthur Fils in round two of this hard court tournament. Read on to discover our match prediction.

Nakashima is 49th in the latest published ranking list and seven places higher in the ATP Live Race. The American received a wild card to play in this tournament and has made the most of it. Round one saw him beat 11th seed Taylor Fritz in three sets, losing the middle one.

That good performance saw him carry on from his run in Montreal last week. In Canada, he beat Tommy Paul on his way to the last 16 when being beaten by eventual runner-up Andrey Rublev. A win here will take him into a third successive last 16, all on hard courts.

Arthur Fils has played Nakashima on two previous occasions. He won their match on clay but it was the American who beat him on a hard court last year. The Frenchman is 24th in the rankings but was a career high 20th in July.

He climbed up the rankings after winning the Hamburg clay court tournament last month. He lost his next two matches (one on hard courts) but returned to form with a win over qualifier Brandon Holt in the first round. 

That ended a run of three successive hard court losses. The winner of this match takes on either Andrey Rublev or Zhizhen Zhang in round three. We tip Nakashima to get the win here.
