Botic Van De Zandschulp vs Matteo Berrettini Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Finals
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
Defending champion Matteo Berrettini takes on unseeded Botic van de Zandschulp in the Queen's Club semi-finals. Berrettini won the Stuttgart grass court title last week on his comeback from injury. He's continued his good form this week and is a good bet to go deep at Wimbledon where he lost to Novak Djokovic in the final last year. The Italian is ranked 10th in the world but has to retain his title to stay in that position. With players either injured or banned, he will be highly seeded at Wimbledon but then drop down the rankings due to being unable to defend the points he won last year. Berrettini has had wins this week over Dan Evans, Denis Kudla (losing the first set) and Tommy Paul to reach the last four. His only previous match against his opponent was last year. That was on grass at Wimbledon and Berrettini won in straight sets.
Botic van de Zandschulp is the world number 29 and up three places in the live rankings. He's bidding to reach his second final of the year. The other was on clay in Munich, where he lost to Holger Rune. He was 4-3 down in the first set before retiring injured with chest pains. His grass court season didn't get off to a good start with a defeat by Emiil Ruusuvuori in his homeland of the Netherlands last week. He led the last 32 round match but then won just three games in the next two sets. It's gone better in London with victories over qualifier Paul Jubb (losing the middle set), Grigor Dimitrov and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. This is a lot tougher though and the tip is for Berrettini to win without dropping a set and reach his third straight grass court final.
