The Celtics have been flying high this season and will look to extend their NBA best 17-4 record against their Eastern Conference Finals opponent from last season. The Heat have been struggling on the year after finishing last season with the best record in the East. Miami has only managed 10 wins from their 21 games which has them sitting 11th in the conference at the quarter mark of the 2022/23 campaign. These two teams are set to face off in back-to-back games, with game two coming on Friday night.

The big news for the Heat is that they should be getting back key player Jimmy Butler for this contest. Butler missed the last six games for the Heat but looks to be in line to make his return in Boston. The Celtics had to do without their all-star two-guard Jaylen Brown in their last game but Jayson Tatum’s 35 points combined with Smart’s 22 and a 21 point performance from Malcom Brogdan meant the Celtics were able to roll regardless. Brown is listed as questionable with neck soreness and looks to be a game time decision.

Superstar Jayson Tatum’s play has been on another level for Boston this season as the 24-year-old is averaging a career high 30.8 points per game on a career best 48% from the floor. The return of Butler should help Miami on the defensive side but Tatum looks like he can’t be stopped at the moment. Back this deep Celtics team to make it 10 in a row on home court with a convincing win here.
