The Boston Celtics welcome the Golden State Warriors to TD Garden for this Sunday afternoon matchup in the NBA. Boston holds the league’s best record at 47-12, placing them atop the Eastern Conference. The Warriors, meanwhile, find themselves involved in a battle for the play-in as they currently sit ninth in the West with a 32-27 record. 

The goal for the 2021/22 champions will be to secure a top-six seed, thus avoiding the play-in tournament. Golden State are trailing the sixth-placed Pelicans by three games with 23 games left on the schedule. The Celtics come into this matchup off the back of a dominant 138-110 home win over the Dallas Mavericks. It was Boston’s 10th victory in a row as the team continues to steamroll the league. On home soil, the Celtics have a league-best 28-3 record and have won their last three at the TD Garden by a staggering 96 points (32.0 average margin of victory). Boston shot 55% from the field in the win over Dallas which included sinking 21 shots from deep on a red-hot 48% from three-point range. The hosts now have a massive nine-game lead over second-place Milwaukee in the East and are almost certain to finish the regular season with the best record in the NBA.
