The Boston Celtics continued their dominant run of form on Tuesday with a statement 112-105 victory over Eastern Conference leaders, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Jayson Tatum put up 22 points, four rebounds and seven assists, while Derrick White sank 18 of his 20 points from beyond the arc to pull the C’s within 4.5 games of the Cavs. 

Boston have slipped to sixth place in the offensive charts (117.2 points per game) while maintaining their top-five defensive record (108.4 PPG).

Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks failed to defend an eight-point lead, as Joel Embild secured a last-minute victory for the Philadelphia 76ers in a nailbiting 118-116 contest on Tuesday. 

Kyrie Irving continued his impressive run of form with 34 points, nine rebounds and four assists as the Mavericks converted just 47% of their 85 field attempts. 

The Mavs sit on the brink of the top 10 offensive rankings, averaging 115.3 points per game, while allowing 113.4 PPG (16th in the league).
