Boston Bruins vs Tampa Bay Lightning Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL

A superb game for an early Sunday morning as the 23-8-6 Boston Bruins host the 19-16-5 Tampa Bay Lightning. The Bruins have found their scoring touch of late, scoring four or more goals in each of their last five games. They have won four of those, on the wrong end of a 6-5 scoreline against the Pittsburgh Penguins when last in action. From 5-2 down, they showed great heart to level the score early in the final frame only to concede again. Generally this season they have been much stronger at the back than that with Jeremy Swayman producing his worst performance of the season between the pipes. He has not been at his very best of late having started the year very strongly, not conceding more than two in seven of his first eight starts. He is splitting the duties with Linus Ullmark who has recently had a six-game stretch where he conceded three or more so there is something not quite right at the back for the Bruins at present.
The Lightning will arrive off the back of a strong 4-1 win on the road at the Minnesota Wild. The Wild have been a strange club this season, responding well to a new head coach originally, winning 11 of their first 14 but the loss to Tampa was a 4th straight defeat. Tampa will take the confidence boost though and they got the better of Boston when they clashed in November in Florida. An equaliser with five seconds left in the final period saw Tampa take the game to overtime where they scored the winner. That type of game has been common this season where the Lightning are concerned. Only four teams have managed to find the net more often than the Lightning have but only three have seen more go in at the other end. They are a great team for a neutral to watch but frustrating for a fan with their netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy not close to his best so far this season.
