Boston Bruins vs Carolina Hurricanes Prediction & Betting Tips - NHL

The 25-15-5 Carolina Hurricanes are on the road in a tasty-looking Eastern Conference matchup with the 29-8-9 Boston Bruins. The Bruins are the top team in the East this season and only a single point off the Vancouver Canucks who have the most points in the NHL. This is the final game of five at home before a couple on the road before the All-Star Break. They have won their first four at TD Garden on this homestand, knocking off both the Colorado Avalanche and the Winnipeg Jets who are the second and third-best teams in the West. They have outscored their opponents 31-7 in those four home games, playing some of their best hockey of the season. The 4-1 win in their most recent game against the Jets flattered them a touch as it was a 2-1 game until late when a shorthanded goal and an empty net tally stretched the score. They were value for the win nonetheless against the best defence in the league which will have set them up perfectly for this challenge.
This is the only game on the road that the Canes are playing in a 12-game span. They went 3-3 in their six at home recently, losing to the Minnesota Wild in their most recent outing. That was a little disappointing as they have generally been in excellent form since Christmas, 8-2-1 in that time span. The two regulation losses have come in their last three games with the Los Angeles Kings also winning in Raleigh. They head to Boston to take on a red-hot Bruins team with some smart recent form away from Carolina, only the Pittsburgh Penguins able to take a point off the Canes in their last seven on their travels. Where they have struggled this season is in net. Four different goalies have been used who have combined for just a .886 save percentage which is well below what they are looking for as a team who expect to have a playoff berth.
