World number 26 Borna Coric takes on qualifier Marton Fucsovics for a place in the final of the AMRO World Tennis Tournament. Coric may be unseeded for this tournamnent but he is yet to drop a set in three matches. He has had good fortune in the draw though and is yet to face a seeded players. Top seed Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zvererv, Roberto Bautista Agut and Felix Auger-Alliassime all lost in the first round  Coric and his opponent have taken advantage of the seedless top half of the draw. Coric had a tough quarter final though as he beat Kei Nishikori, both sets going to tie-breaks. Coric has made a steady start to the new year. He reached the last eight in a Melbourne tournament, then lost in the second round of the Australian Open. Now he seems to be back to the kind of form that took him to last year's US Open quarter finals and runner-up in St Petersburg.

Marton Fucsovics is ranked 33 places below his opponent. The Hungarian reached the third round of the Australian Open, knocking out Stan Wawrinka in the second round. He had to win two qualifying matches to reach the main draw of this tournament. He's certainly made the most of it but had a tough first round match. He beat Reilly Opeka in three sets, each one going to a tie-break. His next two matches were both won in straight sets against unseeded opposition. His last match against Coric was in the Paris Masters last year. The first set went to Coric on a tie-break, then his opponent ran away with the second set 6-1. Coric has won all three previous meetings, all on hard courts and he's only lost one set to him. Back Coric to win this semi-final.
