Borna Ćorić vs Fabian Marozsan Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Italian Open
by Devesh Jaganath | in Tennis Predictions
15th seed Borna Coric and qualifier Fabian Marozsan will meet in the round of 16 at Rome Masters on Tuesday evening. Fabian Maroszsan caused a major shock in the last round when knocking out second seeded Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets. He began this tournament ranked 135th but is up to 114th in the live rankings, 17 places above his career high position. A win over Coric will take him into the top 100 for the first time in his career. The Hungarian has competed primarily on the Challenger circuit this season, and this is the first time that he has made it past the qualifiers of an ATP tournament this year. His run in this tournament will live long in his memory as he overcame 32nd seed Jiri Lehecka in the second round before that big win over Alcaraz. The confidence boost he would have gotten from that win is immeasurable, and while he comes into this one as the underdog, Maroszsan will feel that he pull off another big upset in this one.
After a solid performance at the Madrid Masters last month, Coric has broken back into the top 20 in the world rankings and comes into this tournament ranked 16th. The Croatian had a difficult start to the year, but after reaching the semi-final in Madrid, he has pulled his record for the year back into positive territory, now 13-9 overall and 6-3 on the clay surface. Following his semi-final loss to Carlos Alcaraz last month, Coric has made a promising start here in Rome, beating Thiago Monteiro and Roberto Carballes Baena in the last two rounds. However, facing an unfamiliar face that just overcame the world number one, Coric will know that he cannot underestimate this opponent, or he may be the in center of another big upset dealt by Maroszsan.

Our Borna Ćorić vs Fabian Marozsan Prediction
Marozsan announced himself in a big way in the last round by pulling off one of the biggest upsets of the year when he beat the dominating Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets. That win followed a resilient performance against Jiri Lehecka, which adds to the narrative that his win over Alcaraz was not merely a flash in the pan. This one really could go either way and doesn't look like a good option in accumulators. With this expected to be a close match, we like the looks of at least one tiebreak being required to decide a set. Therefore, our Borna Coric v Fabian Marozsan prediction is: Over 0.5 tiebreaks.
