A game seven looms for the Meralco Bolts and San Miguel Beermen to decide who will face off against defending champions TNT in the final of the PBA Philippine Cup. The Beermen are looking to return to dominance in this competition after having lifted the cup an incredible five consecutive times from 2014 to 2019. For Meralco, they are still looking to break through and win their first championship after having a number of heart-breaking runners-up finishes in recent competitions. These two sides have a history in recent playoff encounters, with the Bolts getting the better of the Beermen in recent years. Eliminating Meralco is extra incentive for this talented San Miguel squad that finished the regular season with the top seed and a 9-2 record.
