Bolts vs Road Warriors Prediction & Betting Tips - PBA, Governors Cup
by Joseph King | in PBA, Governors Cup Predictions
The NLEX Road Warriors face off against the Meralco Bolts at the PhilSports Arena for this PBA Governors’ Cup matchday with both teams aiming for a top four spot. Only a handful of games remain before the start of the playoffs and the teams will be battling to secure themselves the “twice-to-beat” advantage in the opening round that finishing in the top four positions brings with it. NLEX enter this game coming off the back of a 116-112 win over Converge, a result which snapped a two game losing streak. The result gives the Road Warriors a record of five wins and two losses by way of their positive start to the season which saw them win the first four games. However, head coach Frankie Kim is dealing with something of an injury crisis as his NLEX team is playing shorthanded with Sean Anthony, Mike Miranda and Matt Nieto all missing recent games due to injury. They have also had to cope with the loss of former import player and established veteran Johnathan Simmons who left for China after the first four games of the PBA season.
On the other side, Meralco will be desperate to snap a current two game losing streak as they see themselves quickly sinking down the standings. The Bolts started the season on a two game winning streak but since then have managed just one victory in their last four outings. Their last game was a hard fought 111-104 loss against TNT which was preceded by a 94-86 loss against the San Miguel Beermen. While the losing streak certainly isn’t pretty, Meralco can perhaps count themselves a bit unfortunate having to play the clear top two teams and the cream of the crop in the PBA in back-to-back games. They also managed to keep those games relatively close which is an encouraging sign that the Bolts could be primed to get back to winning ways here. Meralco currently occupy the seventh position in the standings with a record of three wins and three losses.

Our Bolts vs Road Warriors Prediction
Fatigue could finally catch up to NLEX here as they continue to play on a short rotation. Their own head coach credited their most recent win down to their guts and it remains to be seen how much the players will have left in the tank after a tough victory to end their losing run. Meralco was able to stay competitive against the PBA’s top two teams and should be raring to go in this one as they face a desperate, must-win spot with their playoff lives in jeopardy. Our NLEX Road Warriors vs Meralco Bolts prediction: Bolts -1.5 point spread
