Magnolia Hotshots are closing in on a place in the final of the PBA Cup. They are 3-1 up on Meralco Bolts in this best-of-seven semi-final. Just one more win is needed, while the Bolts have the almighty task of winning three straight matches to qualify for the final. Magnolia are causing an upset here as they are the third seeds, while the Bolts are the second seeded team. The Hotshots have now won 11 of their 15 games in this competition, compared to the 10-5 record for their opponents. 

The first four matches of this semi-final have only produced one close game. The first saw the Hotshots come from three points down to easily win the final quarter and win the match by nine points. A strong second half put the Hotshots 2-0 up, before the Bolts finally got a win. The Bolts led by 18 points after the third quarter but again the Hotshots put in a powerful finish. They won the final quarter by 14 points but that wasn't enough and they lost by five. The fourth match saw the Hotshots regain their two game lead. They won that by 12 points winning the first three quarters but for once not finishing strongly. They'll want t finish this semi-final off in this game.
