Bianca Andreescu vs Simona Halep Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Bad Homburg Open

Fourth seeded Simona Halep takes on unseeded Bianca Andreescu for a place in the Bad Hamburg final. The winner will be up against either ninth seeded Alize Cornet or unseeded Caroline Garcia in the final. Halep is a former world number one but began this week ranked 19th in the world. Halep is up to 17th after this run to the semi-finals in Hamburg. She won the Wimbledon title three years ago but hasn't played a game there since. Halep will be a contender for this year's championship and a win in Hamburg will boost her confidence. This is her second semi-final on grass having lost at this stage to Beatriz Haddad Maia in Birmingham last weeki. This tournament has seen her get wins over Katerina Siniakova (after losing the first set), Tamara Zidansek (losing just three games) and sixth seeded Amanda Anisimova, again losing just three games in the match.

Bianca Andreescu began this week ranked 64th but is a lot better than that ranking suggests. Three years ago, the Canadian was ranked fourth in the world but injuries haven't helped her cause. One week in March this year saw her drop from 44th to 119th due to her not defending the points earned from reaching the Miami Open final in 2021. Look out for that to happen to a few other players when the world rankings come out after Wimbledon due to the lack of ranking points this year. Andreescu has started her climb back up the rankings and reached the quarter finals of the Rome Masters. Her first grass court tournament of the year saw Andreescu lose in the last 16 to Karolina Pliskova. Her grass court record is nowhere near as impressive as that of her opponent. In fact, the Canadian has never made it past the first round at Wimbledon. A win here would see the Canadian in her first grass court final. This week has seen her beat Martina Trevisan, Katie Swan and then top seeded Daria Kasatkina in the last eight. Only 17 games have been lost in those three matches but this is going to be tougher.
