This is scheduled to be the last match that Serena Williams plays this calendar year. The American bids to go out with a bang by winning the US Open and equalling the record of 24 Grand Slam wins. Serena first won this title 20 years ago when her opponent in this match wasn't even born. Williams is in awesome form going into this final. Only five games have been dropped by Williams in her quarter final and semi-final. The injury worries that have blighted her this year seem to have gone away. Williams has only had one previous match against her opponent in this final. That was in August of this year and Williams was 3-1 down in the first set of the Canadian Open final before retiring injured.

Bianca Andreescu has had a fantastic breakthrough year. She has won the Indian Wells tournament and as just mentioned, the Canadian Open. The Canadian has had a string of wins over top ten ranked players this year. Andreescu beat Belinda Bencic in three very close sets to reach this final. She's dropped sets in two of her last three rounds and those tough matches might count against her in this match. Andreescu is in good form and will give Williams a stern test but this looks booked for Serena to win the title.
