Bianca Andreescu vs Lesia Tsurenko Prediction & Betting Tips - Thailand Open

Top seeded Bianca Andreescu takes on unseeded Lesia Tsurenko in the semi-finals of the Thailand Open. Andreescu was as high as fourth in the rankings in 2019 but started this tournament in 42nd place. She's up to 37th in the live rankings and a win here will take her to 31st. That would be a ranking that'd see Andreescu seeded in the French Open. This year has seen her win two and lose two matches before this tournament. The second round of the Australian Open was reached after beating the 25th seeded Maria Bouzkova in her opening match. A set lead was lost in round two as Andreescu lost to qualifer Cristina Bucsa who was ranked 100th that week. In this tournament, the 22-year-old has won three matches, all in straight sets. The quarter final saw her defeat fifth seed Marta Kostyuk winning the first set 6-0 and the second on a tie-break.

Lesia Tsurenko is an unexpected semi-finalist considering at the start of the Thailand Open she was ranked 136th. Four years ago though Tsurenko was as high as 23rd and was a quarter finalist in the 2018 US Open. In recent years though she's only got past the second round of a Grand Slam on two occasions. The recent Australian Open saw her need to win threeK qualifiers to reach the main draw where she then lost to Karolina Muchova, only wining three games. it's not been an easy route to the last four for the 33-year old with two three-set matches before beating sixth seeded Tatjana Maria for the loss of just two games. This run has taken her up to 111th in the live rankings and a win over Andreescu will see her back in the top 100. This is her second semi-final of the year, the other being in an ITF tournament but then withdraw from her match against Jodie Burrage. Another tough task awaits Tsurenko here and it's Andreescu who can make it into the final.
