Bianca Andreescu vs Elise Mertens Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA US Open
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
Canadian Bianca Andreescu is chasing her second straight title. She came into this US Open fresh from winning the Canadian Open in Toronto. On her way to winning that title, Andreescu beat world number three Karolina Pliskova and number five ranked Kiki Bertens. The final saw her lead Serena Williams 3-1 in the first set before her opponent retired injured. Andreescu also won the Indian Wells title this year with wins over Eliina Svitolina and Angelique Kerber. When she hits form, Andreescu is a tough player to beat and in this tournament has only lost one set and knocked out Carolina Wozniacki.
Elise Mertens is in her second Grand Slam quarter final. Her previous best was a semi-final appearance in the 2018 Australian Open. This year has seen her reach the third round in Australia and Paris and the fourth round at Wimbledon. Mertens is yet to drop a set in this tournament but has not met any seeded opponents. Her best performance this year was winning the Doha tournament beating three of the world's top ten that week. The pair have never had a match before and the tip here is for Andreescu to get the win.
