Second seed Beatriz Haddad Maia takes on wild card Bianca Andreescu in round two of the hard court Toray Pan Pacific Open. It's the first match for Maia after being given a bye in round one. Here's our match prediction.

Maia is the world number 10 but down to 17th in the live rankings. That's because the Brazilian is about to lose the points won when winning the Elite Trophy last October. Maia is only 16th in the Live Race and won't be in this year's Tour FInals.

Her form has been consistent in recent months though. The Korea Open was won and the last eight of the US Open. Last week saw her beaten in the last eight of the Ningbo Open. 

Bianca Andreescu has shared the two previous matches played against Maia. Both were played on this surface and Andreescu won the last match played two years ago. Andreescu is 159th in the latest rankings and up to 140th in the live list after beating qualifier Mei Yamaguchi in the first round without dropping a set. That was the first win that Andreescu has had on hard courts this year after losing her first four.

The former top ten player didn't start playing this year until May after nine months out. We tip Maia to win this in straight sets.
