World number 86 Bernabe Zapata Miralles faces the qualifier Giulio Zeppieri in the Umag quarter finals. There's only one seed left in the top half of the draw and the winner of this match will take on either the top seed Carlos Alcaraz or Facundo Bagnis in the semi-final. Miralles has already beaten one seed in this tournament. He defeated the third seed Holger Rune in round two after dropping the first set. That was much tougher than in the first round when beating wild card Dino Prizmic. His opponent got the wild card as he's Croatian but is ranked outside the top 800. He only won four games before retiring in the second set when 3-0 down.

Giulio Zeppieri was the world number 168 when this tounament began. He's up to a career high 159th in the live rankings. The Italian probably didn't expect to get to the quarter finals when having to come from behind in both of his qualifying matches. He also lost the first set when beating Pedro Cachin in the first round of the main draw. That was his first ever win in the main draw of an ATP Tour event. He doubled that total with a three set win over Daniel Elahi Galan, this time losing the middle set. This looks tougher though and Miralles can get the win.
