Benoît Paire vs Federico Delbonis Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Hamburg Open

Eighth seeded Benoit Paire takes on Federico Delbonis in the last eight of the Hamburg Open. The winner takes on either Dusan Lajovic (seeded fifth) or second seed Pablo Carreno Busta in the semi-final. Paire is the world 51 but was in the top 20 five years ago.  He's having better luck this week on clay than at Wimbledon where he only won seven games in three sets against Diego Schwartzmann and was accused of not trying his best. That's not the first time he's been accused of that and his general behaviour often leaves a bit to be desired. It's not been a great year for him but he has had some success on clay with a last eight appearance in Argentina and a win over Nikoloz Basilashvili in Madrid. He's beaten Ricardas Berankis in the first round, his opponent retired during the first set tie-break. Round two saw Paire beat Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas 7-5 7-6.

Federico Delbonis is ranked three places higher than his opponent. He also lost in the first round at Wimbledon but put in a lot more effort in losing in four sets to Andrey Rublev. Delbonis reached the last 16 at Roland Garros with a win over Fabio Fognini. Just before that Grand Slam, he got to the semi-finals in Belgrade and the last eight of the Rome Masters. His form in Rome was pretty good as he had wins over Karen Khachanov, David Goffin and Felix Auger-Aliassime. He'll relish a possible semi-final against Busta as he beat him in Madrid. He had to go to three sets to beat Zhang Zhizhen in round one but then beat fourth seeded Albert Ramos Vinolas in straight sets. His current form is far better than his tempermental opponent, go for Delbonis to win, have a side bet on a tie-break.
