Benjamin Bonzi vs Sebastian Korda Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Estoril Open
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
Eighth seeded Sebastian Korda takes on unseeded Benjamin Bonzi in the Estoril Open second round. Korda is ranked 37th in the world, which is 21 places above his opponent. The winner of this match meets either the top seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime or lucky loser Carlos Taberner in the last eight. Korda had a straight sets win over Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the first round, losing just six games. A win over Bonzi will take him into only his second quarter final of the year. The other was in the Delray Beach Open. If he does win and face Taberner, it'll give him a chance to get swift revenge for being beaten by him in Barcelona (also on clay) last week. His best win of the year came on clay in Monte Carlo where he beat Carlos Alcaraz before being beaten by Taylor Fritz. Last year saw Korda enjoy success on clay when winning the Emilia Romagna Open. The year before that saw him get to the fourth round of the French Open.
World number 58 Benjamin Bonzi caused an upset in the first round when beating Dominic Thiem. He won two tight sets against an opponent still feeling his way back after injury. He has had lower level title wins on clay but never got past the second round of the French Open. The Frenchman has reached one semi-final this year. That was in a hard court tournament held in Marseille, losing to Andrey Rublev. He's doing better this week on clay having suffered a first round exit to Daniel Evans in Monte Carlo in which he failed to win a game in the first set. His only previous meeting with Korda was last year in a Challenger Tour event. Korda won that with both sets being won on tie-breaks. Go for Korda to win this and have a side-bet on a tie-break taking place.
