Ben Shelton vs Jaume Munar Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Shanghai Masters

Ben Shelton, 19th seed, will begin his Shanghai Masters campaign on Friday by battling unseeded Jaume Munar in the second round. A third-round showdown with either ninth-seed Alexander Zverev or unseeded Roman Safiullin will await the winner. Ben Shelton is making his debut in Shanghai. He arrives here off the back of a victory secured at the Laver Cup. The American has been in fine form in recent weeks which has boosted his quest towards turning his season around. Shelton has won six of his last seven matches but has still lost more than he has won this year. He has compiled a 20-23 record with the majority of his victories, 13, coming on hard courts. His form on the surface saw him rise to the semifinals at the US Open which is his best result at tour level. Shelton is ranked 20th currently in the ATP.

Jaume Munar is also making his Shanghai debut. He secured a winning start to the tournament by defeating crowd favourite Te Rigele in two sets in the first round. This historic win for him was also his first victory on hard courts this season. Munar has again found the going tough on hard courts and has lost six of seven matches. But as he has fared a bit better throughout the campaign than Shelton, he will fancy his chances here. The Spaniard has compiled a 28-26 record and has won one challenger title. He is currently up three places to 79th in the live ranking.
