Sixth seed Ben Shelton and the unseeded Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard will meet to decide this year’s Swiss Indoors event. This will mark their second meeting this season and here’s our prediction for this match.
Shelton defeated Arthur Fils in the semi-finals in straight sets. His third 2-0 success in four matches this week, saw him progress to the third tour final of his career.
Shelton, who has moved up to 19th in the live ranking, has a 100% record in tournament deciders at tour level. He has won both finals he has played at this level.
The most recent victory was on clay in Houston back in April. Shelton has seven wins in nine indoor matches played thus far.
Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard is having his best season as a tour player. A champion in Lyon back in May, the young Frenchman has earned his second appearance at a tour final.
He defeated fourth seed Holger Rune in straight sets in the semis. This was his third 2-0 success in four matches in Basel.
Mpetshi Perricard’s form this week has allowed him to achieve a new career world ranking. He is now placed 37th in the live ranking after moving 13 places following his win over Rune.
