Ben Shelton vs Christopher Eubanks Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cincinnati Open

American counterparts Ben Shelton and Christopher Eubanks, both unseeded, will battle on Sunday in the first round of the 2023 Cincinnati Masters. The winner will advance to face fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second round. Ben Shelton was defeated in the second round in his last match which was in Toronto. This was his fourth defeat in his last five fixtures and he will be keen to start off with a win here. Shelton started the season in superb form and made it to the quarterfinals in Melbourne in his Grand Slam debut. But since then, he has struggled with inconsistency and now has lost more matches than he has won. The 20-year-old has compiled a 13-21 record and has lost more matches on every surface he has played on. On hard court, he has won seven of his 17 matches on the surface with four of those coming in Melbourne. He is currently ranked 40th in the live ranking. Shelton had won the first two encounters with Eubansk before he was defeated in Mallorca earlier this year.

Christopher Eubanks is also struggling with his form at the moment as he has lost three of his last four matches. He was also eliminated at the Canadian Open in the first round which was his second defeat in a row. The 27-year-old has however fared way better than Shelton this season and will be confident of earning back-to-back victories against his compatriot. Eubanks defeated Shelton in the second round on his way to winning the title in Mallorca. This was the first tour title of his career, propelling him to an impressive grass court campaign. Eubanks would follow this up with a quarterfinal finish at Wimbledon, his best-ever result at a Grand Slam. The majority of his 37 victories in 2023 have however come on hard court. He has 22 victories in 35 outings on the surface. Eubanks is currently ranked 29th in the live ranking which is a new career high.
