Ben Shelton vs Cameron Norrie Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Cincinnati Open

Ninth seeded Cameron Norrie takes on wild card Ben Shelton for a place in the Cincinnati Masters quarter finals. Norrie is the world number 11 but back in the top 10 in the live rankings. The British number one has reached at least the quarter finals in three of his last four tournaments. Norrie got to the last four at Wimbledon but went one stage further in Los Cabos when losing to Daniil Medvedev in the final. Last week saw him lose in the last 16 in Montreal to Felix Auger-Aliassime. He'll be wanting deep runs here and in the US Open to boost his chances of making it into the ATP Tour Finals. He's 13th in the live list having had to make up ground after a poor start to 2022. This week has so far seen Norrie defeat Holger Rune in three sets (middle set lost) and then Andy Murray after losing the first set.

Ben Shelton is the world number 229 and playing in his first Masters event. The 19-year-old has spent most of the year playing on the lower Challenger Tour. He's had a fair amount of success there reaching finals in Rome (in America not Italy) and Chicago. He was given a wild card into the Atlanta ATP Tour event beating a player ranked outside the top 200 before being beaten by John Isner, though he took him to a final set.. All good experience though and he again received a wild card for this event. He's made the most of it with wins over Lorenzo Sonego and fifth seeded Casper Ruud. Those wins have worked wonders for his ranking and he's up to 171st. A wildcard for the US Open looks distinctly likely too. Norrie is in good form though and he can get the win against a teenager we need to keep an eye on.
