Round three of the French Top 14 continues this weekend, and wrapping up Saturday’s fixtures will be Bordeaux-Begles taking on Racing 92 at Stade Chaban-Delmas. The Begles are in seventh place in the league table after the first two matches, while Racing are fourth. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

What we have here is a rematch of last season’s quarter-final where the Begles triumphed 31-17 en route to the final where they were convincingly beaten by Toulouse. 

This term, Bordeaux have made a mixed start to the Top 14 season, kicking off the campaign by proving too good for Stade Francais, when they notched up a comfortable 46-26 home win but that was followed with a slender 28-26 loss to Lyon last week.

The Begles have now won each of their last five home games across all competitions dating back to a 42-41 defeat against the Harlequins in the European Champions Cup back in April. 

Racing 92 have made an almost identical start to the campaign as their upcoming opponents, losing their season-opener 31-28 to Castres before picking up their first win, 33-20 at home to Clermont last weekend. 

The visitors are now set to face Bordeaux, who they lost two in their last two encounters, including that quarter-final defeat and a 21-5 loss on the road back in March. 

Racing have also lost their last six away games in all competitions and failed to score above 15 points in four of the matches during that period.
