Panathinaikos are away to Zalgiris in the EuroLeague seeking to maintain their hold on second spot in the standings. They have won seven games, one more than their hosts who are down in ninth place. Below is our prediction for this match.

Zalgiris have lost their last three matches in Europe. This run has them on the verge of tumbling out of the playoff places. The Lithuanian giants, who have won six of their 10 games, will therefore be extra keen to halt this run. 

Andrea Trinchieri’s men suffered their first home loss in Europe last time out in the competition. They were outgunned 72-65 by Fenerbahce. Zalgiris are averaging 74.1 points which is the lowest-scoring tally.

Panathinaikos are coming into this match faring much better than their hosts. The Greek giants are on a four-match winning run across all competitions and have won their last two games in Europe. 

Ergin Ataman’s men, who are the defending European champions, are two games adrift of top spot. They defeated Bologna away from home 82-77 on matchday 10. 

The Greens are averaging 86.5 points which is a tally bettered by only one other team. Four of Panathinaikos’ seven wins have been registered on the road.
