BC Olympiakos Piraeus vs Panathinaikos Prediction & Betting Tips - EuroLeague

Olympiacos will be at home to welcome fellow Greek rivals Panathinaikos in round 29 of the 2023/24 EuroLeague. They are one win adrift of third-placed Panathinaikos and sit in fifth place in the standings. Olympiacos have dominated their domestic rivals in Europe and have currently won the last five matchups against them. Coupled with three wins in five meetings this season across all competitions, the hosts will be confident of success here. Georgios Bartzokas’ men defeated Panathinaikos in their last encounter to lift the Greece Cup three weeks ago. The Reds, who have won their last 13 outings across all competitions, are seeking to cement their place in the top six. With the race for the playoffs intensifying, Olympiacos have the same record as seventh-place Bologna who are in the play-in places. The hosts, who will be without Nigel Williams-Goss, are averaging 79.1 points in Europe. They defeated Lavrio 84-63 last time out in the domestic league and Bologna 74-69 in their last outing in Europe.

Panathinaikos have been in exceptional form and have lost just once in their last nine outings across all competitions. This defeat however was in the Greece Cup final, their second final loss in succession to Olympiacos in the tournament. They will be eager for revenge and cementing their place in the top three in Europe is extra motivation. Panathinaikos have won 18 times in Europe but seven of their 10 defeats have come on the road. This is a concern for Ergin Ataman’s men. Panathinaikos have won their last three EuroLeague fixtures and defeated ASVEL 85-67 at home last time out in the competition. The Shamrock are coming off an 87-64 victory over AS Karditsas. This allowed them to maintain a slim lead atop the Greek domestic league. Luca Vildoza and Kostas Antetokounmpo are expected to sit out this trip due to injuries. The two didn’t play in the last round and were also unavailable over the weekend in domestic action. Panathinaikos, who have won both league matchups with Olympiacos this season, are averaging 81.6 points a game in the EuroLeague.
