Matchday 22 in the Euroleague sees Olympiacos hosting Maccabi Tel Aviv at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Athens. Olympiacos are currently sitting seventh in the standings with a 11-10 record for a points total of 22 while their opponents are just above them in sixth-place with a 12-9 record. A win for the hosts could see them leapfrog their Israeli opponents in the table as teams battle for a top eight playoff qualification spot. Olympiacos enter this matchup off the back of a dominant 71-52 home win over Kolossus in the Greek league on Monday. They suffered a 80-69 defeat to Baskonia in their last Euroleague game last Friday, their second straight after losing to Barcelona two days prior. The three-time Euroleague champions have won their last five in a row at home across all competitions (two home wins in a row in Euroleague play) while amassing a 13-5 record on home soil in the Greek league and Euroleague combined.

Maccabi Tel Aviv comes to town in a mixed run of form. They won their most recent game 97-82 against Hapoel in the Israel Super League but have suffered two defeats from their last three in the Euroleague. Both of those defeats came on the road, with their most recent a 88-79 loss to Serbian club Partizan which was preceded by a heavy 109-74 loss at Fenerbahce. Maccabi is much improved when playing on home soil where they have built up an 8-4 record in the Euroleague. The visitors will have to improve their shooting efficiency if they are to get their fifth away win of the season. Maccabi shot a combined 42% from the field in the losses to Partizan and Fenerbahce. This had them at well below their average of 86.2 points per game which ranks as the second-highest in the league.
