The European Rugby Champions Cup gets underway this weekend. English Premiership side Bath Rugby host Top 14's Stade Rochelais in Pool 2. The other sides in this pool are Benetton, Bristol, Clermont and Leinster with the top four qualifying. Here's our match prediction.
Bath are top of the English Premiership with six wins and one defeat this season. They have won their last seven league and cup games since a home loss to Bristol in early October. Their most recent match saw them come-from-behind to beat Exeter Chiefs at home.
Last year saw them reach the last 16 of this competition after finishing third in their pool but lost away to Exeter Chiefs.
Stade Rochelais won the European Rugby Champions Cup in both 2022 and 2023. They failed to complete the hat-trick though when being beaten by Leinster (who they will play later in this pool) losing 40-13 in Ireland.
They are sixth in Top 14 and have lost their last two league matches. Their most recent match saw them beaten 23-14 by newly-promoted Vannes who are bottom of the table. Before that, they lost 28-24 at Castres.
