Bath look to bounce back from last week's defeat at Leicester Tigers. That loss saw them drop to fourth place in the English Premiership and this week they host nearby Gloucester who are ninth in the table. Bath had a poor first half away at Leicester, conceding 29 points and going into the break 19 points down. They rallied in the second half but their run of two successive league wins came to an end. Bath are only two points behind new leaders Northampton Saints. With them playing second placed Exeter Chiefs then this is the ideal chance to make up ground on the top two. Bath have won six of their ten English Premiership games this season and only one out of five has been lost at home. That was to Leicester Tigers, going down by just one point. Since that defeat, Bath have beaten Bristol, Exeter and Harlequins at home. November saw them travel to Gloucester and they ran out comfortable 45-27 winners.
Gloucester only have Newcastle Falcons below them in the table. They have lost eight of their ten games in the English Premiership and only have 16 points putting them five behind the final European Rugby Champions Cup qualifying places. Their season actually began well with wins over Harlequins and Newcastle but since then they have lost eight league games in a row. Their only wins have come in the Challenge Cup against Black Lion and Clermont. Their most recent English Premiership game saw them lose 32-26 at Harlequins. Their last four away league games have all ended in defeat. We tip that to become five with Bath ahead at both half and full time.
