Barbora Krejcikova vs Magda Linette Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Elite Trophy

Barbora Krejcikova takes on Magda Linette in her first match in the Azalea Group of the WTA Elite Trophy. The other player in this round-robin group is Daria Kasatkina with the winner progressing to the semi-finals. Krejcikova is ranked tenth in the world and recently got to the final of the Zhenghzou Open. That was also played on a hard court and on her way to that final. the Czech beat Kasatkina so will be confident of progressing from this group. Krejcikova also won the WTA 500 event held in San Diego last month which was a good recovery from losing in the US Open first round to Lucia Bronzetti. That win in San Diego followed her winning of the Dubai Tennis Championships in February where she beat Sabalenka, Pegula and Swiatek in consecutive matches. Her form hasn't always been that good this year though and she missed out on reaching the WTA Tour Finals.

Magda Linette has never beaten her opponent in two previous meetings. A set was won in a match played six years ago but the Pole lost their most recent meeting last year in straight sets.  Only four games were won in that match and both defeats were in matchhes played on hard courts. Linette is ranked 23rd which is four places below the career high she achieved in May of this year. Her current form isn't good with each of her last three matches being lost and with only one set being won. The most recent of those was in last week's Jiangxi Open, losing to Valeria Savinykh who was ranked 148t at the time. September did see her reach the final in Guangzhou but no top 60 ranked players were beaten that week. We go for Krejckikova to win this in straight sets.
