Barbora Krejcikova vs Caroline Garcia Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Strasbourg Open

Barbora Krejcikova is the fifth seed for this WTA Tour tournament in Strasbourg. In the second round, she takes on unseeded Caroline Garcia with the winner facing either third seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova or Clara Burel. Krejcikova is world ranked number 38th in the singles but seventh in the doubles. The Czech has had a good year so far in the singles. The last eight was reached in the Grampian Trophy but her best event was in Dubai where she lost in the final to Garbine Muguruza. Her best run on clay this year came in Rome where she beat world number five Sofia Kenin before losing in three sets to eventual champion Iga Swiatek. The first round in Strasbourg saw her beat Oceane Dudin. The first set was won 6-3 and her opponent retired when 3-0 down in the second.

Caroline Garcia is down to 57 in the world rankings. The Spaniard didn't reach her first quarter final of the year until last week in Parma. That run ended when being beaten by Katerina Siniakova in straight sets. It's all a bit disappointing for a player who was in the top four in the world just three years ago. She's won ten matches this year but lost nine, so not the best of records. The first round saw her get a comfortable straight sets win over Zarina Diyas. There's only been one previous singles match between these two players. That was four years ago and Garcia won in three sets. Back Krejcikova to get the win here.
