Barbora Krejcikova vs Anastasia Potapova Prediction & Betting Tips - Hamburg, Germany, Qualifying

Earlier this year, Barbora Krejcikova was ranked second in the world. Losing her French Open title has cost her dearly  seeing her drop 12 positions after her first round exit. This week began with her down in 19th place. The Czech is the third seed in the Hamburg Open and takes on Anastasia Potapova in the second round. It hasn't been all bad news for Krejcikova as she won the women's doubles title at Wimbledon this year. Her return to clay didn't go well last week with a loss to Xiyu Wang in her first match in Budapest. This year saw her reach the last eight at the Australian Open but this is her first quarter final since then. This week has seen her return to the kind of form that saw her get to the final in Sydney at the start of the year. Wins have come againt Suzan Lamens and Magdalena Frech with only nine games lost. This is her second match against Potapova with the other being in Dubai last year with Krejcikova (who reached the final) winning and losing just two games.

Anastasia Potapova is the world number 63 but was 24 places lower than that last month. Since March, she's climbed 61 places in the rankings due to some impressive form. A clay court tournament in Istanbul was won in April after having to qualify for the event. Last week the Russian made it to the last four in Lausanne but didn't beat anyone ranked higher than 49th and was eventually beaten by Olga Danilovic who was ranked 124th at the time. Her last six losses have all been inflicted by players outside the top 100. That included losing on clay to Tara Wurth who was ranked 357th at the time. Back Krejcikova to win this but it might take her three sets to do so.
