Barangay Ginebra vs Road Warriors Prediction & Betting Tips - PBA, Governors Cup
by Joseph King | in Basketball Predictions
The PBA Governors’ Cup quarter finals sees defending champions Barangay Ginebra taking on NLEX Road Warriors at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Barangay finished the season with the third seed by way of an eight win and three loss record, granting them the all-important “twice-to-beat” advantage. This means that the Gin Kings need to win only once while NLEX will have to win two straight if they are to advance to the semi finals. These two teams met in the semi finals of the 2021/22 Governors’ Cup playoffs, in which Barangay would emerge victorious and eventually go on to win the championship. The defending champions closed out their regular season in disappointing fashion, falling 114-105 to the top-seeded TNT Tropang Giga. PBA legend and Barangay Ginebra leader Justin Brownlee has called for improvement after his team were outscored 33-12 in the fourth quarter to give the game away to TNT.
NLEX finished the regular season with a record of seven wins and four defeats, granting them the sixth seed in the standings. Coach Frankie Lim will be hoping for an improvement as well from his side after missing out on a top four spot with a 120-106 loss to San Miguel in the final regular season game. The loss will be particularly disheartening, as a win would have granted the Road Warriors the “twice-to-beat” advantage of a top four finish. Instead, they have to face off against the veteran Gin Kings who have boat loads of experience in playoff PBA basketball. NLEX lost 114-111 to Barangay Ginebra when the two teams faced off earlier in the regular season. Justin Brownlee would drop in 44 points, grab 16 rebounds and dish out six assists on that day.

Our Barangay Ginebra vs Road Warriors Prediction
This will be a difficult test for the Road Warriors who will come into this match bitterly disappointed at missing out on the top four. They’ll now have to contend with the defending champions and arguably the most experienced side in the league in Ginebra. Justin Brownlee’s production will be key as always and the 34-year-old has shown a propensity to putting up big statlines on NLEX. We’re backing the Gin Kings experience to see them through on the back of another big game from Brownlee. Our Barangay Ginebra vs NLEX Road Warriors prediction: Barangay Ginebra -7 point spread
