Two teams who see a lot of one another in the American League East, the Baltimore Orioles, will take on the Boston Red Sox on Saturday. The Orioles showed themselves to be a top young team last year, winning their first AL East banner since 2014 and only their third since 1983. The potential addition of Jackson Holliday on the main roster this season will add further excitement to a batting lineup that already has serious depth. They added Corbin Burnes to their starting rotation, the ex-Brewer won the National League Cy Young in 2021 and is a real sign of intent that the Orioles are looking to win it all. Kyle Bradish was their leading pitcher last year but he will start the season with an injury.

Things have not been great in Boston for a few years now. They have missed the playoffs in four of the last five seasons, finishing bottom of the AL East in three of those. Rafael Devers is one of the biggest stars in the game, but he cannot put the entire team on his back. An injury-free season for Trevor Story would be a big help to them, but the loss of veterans Justin Turner and Adam Duvall leaves their lineup lacking pop. The starting rotation depends on Lucas Giolito and Nick Pivetta producing their best to support the younger members like Brayan Bello who showed plenty of promise last season.
