Both teams won their first pool match with Wales defeating Georgia 43-14 and Australia getting a 39-21 victory over Fiji. There have been some tight games though with eight games in the last 11 years won by five points or less. Australia weren't that impressive against a Fiji side that has since lost to Uruguay.
