Australia take on Georgia in their last match in Group K of the 2023 FIBA Men's World Basketball Cup. Both of these countries have already been elminated and won't be going into the quarter finals. They'll want a win though to improve their final classification in the tournament. Australia made a promising start to this World Basketball Cup with a win over Finland but then lost by three points to Germany. That was a disappointing loss for the Australians as they led the Germans going into the final quarter. They beat Japan in their final Group match to progress into the second round. Their qualification hopes ended when losing to Slovenia 91-80. They got off to a poor start in that vital match, losing the first quarter by ten points. Australia won the next two but Slovenia pulled ahead again in the final quarter to win the match and eliminate Australia.

Georgia were only 32nd in the latest world rankings, 29 places below their opponents. They finished second behind Slovenia in Group F of the first round. When they played Slovenia it wasn't so close and they lost to them by 21 points. Georgia did win their other two group matches with wins over Cape Verde and Venezuela., neither of whom are ranked in the top 15. They qualified for the second round but lost to Germany by 27 points and that ended their hopes of reaching the last eight. We go for Australia to win this match and to be ahead at half and full time.
