The Atlanta Hawks host the Chicago Bulls on Monday with these two teams separated by just one game in the standings. The 10th-place Hawks will look to leapfrog the ninth-place Bulls with a victory as the two teams jockey for position in the play-in spots. Atlanta has started to turn things around in the month of February and enter this matchup off the back of two consecutive wins. They defeated the 76ers 127-121 on the road on Friday before following that up with a back-to-back victory on Saturday against the Rockets by a score of 122-113 at home. The win was the sixth in the last eight for Atlanta who can put even further space between themselves and the 11th-place Nets for the final spot in the NBA’s play-in tournament. Obviously, head coach Quin Snyder will be targeting a higher seeding although there remains a four game gap between the hosts and eighth-place Miami.

The Bulls are searching for consistency after an extended stretch of trading a win for a loss. In their last 14 contests, Chicago has yet to lose back-to-back games. However, they haven’t been able to string together a meaningful winning streak, either, winning two straight games just twice during that stretch. Their most recent appearance resulted in a 114-106 overtime loss to the Magic on the road on Saturday. The visitors are in the midst of a four-game road trip which ends on Wednesday with a meeting against the red-hot Cavs. Head coach Billy Donovan will know the importance of grabbing a victory in this game as his team will be sizable underdogs against a Cleveland team that has won 17 of its last 18. Chicago will be without Zach LaVine for this one with the two-time All-Star undergoing season-ending foot surgery. The Bulls have actually peformed better without LaVine, posting a 15-13 record compared to 10-15 with him.
