Aslan Karatsev vs Lorenzo Sonego Prediction & Betting Tips - Sydney, Australia

2021 was a groundbreaking year for Aslan Karatsev. The world number 20 is the top seed for the Sydney International and faces seventh seeded Lorenzo Sonego in the quarter finals.  Last year saw Karatsev reach the Australian Open semi-finals, win two ATP tournaments and was part of the Russian team that won the Davis Cup finals. 12 months ago he was ranked 113th in the world and got as high as 15th two months ago. Karatsev is in his first tournament of the year and began with a straight sets win over Miomir Kecmanovic. 

Lorenzo Sonego is the world number 27, six places higher than he was this time last year. He won the Sardegna Open on clay last year and then lost to Alex de Minaur in the final of the Eastbourne grass court tournament.  Sonego also got to the semi-finals of the Italian Open, again showing his ability on clay. He didn't fare too well in Grand Slam tournaments though, his best performance being the fourth round at Wimbledon, losing to Roger Federer. This is only the second quarter final he's reached in his last 11 tournaments. To get this far he's beaten Hugo Gaston (after losing the first set) and qualifier Sebastian Baez. This is only his second match against Karatsev, losing the first in Dubai last year in three sets. Back Karatsev to get another win down under.
