Aryna Sabalenka continues her bid to win a third successive Australian Open. The top seed faces 14th-seeded Mirra Andreeva in the last 16. Can the defending champion reach the quarter-finals? Here's our match prediction.

Sabalenka is down to second in the live rankings. Reaching the last four or an early exit for Iga Swiatek.will see her return to the top spot. The 26-year-old has won this outdoor hard court Grand Slam for the past two years.

 Last year also saw her win the US Open title. 2025 has already seen her win the Brisbane International. The top seed has won three matches in this tournament without dropping a set.

Mirra Andreeva has already played Sabalenka once this year. That was in the Brisbane semi-final and the 17-year-old only won five games. Andreeva is 15th in the rankings and that's a career-high for the Russian.

This is the second successive year in which Andreeva has reached the fourth round of this tournament. Her only time past this stage of a Grand Slam was at Roland Garros last year when getting to the semi-final.

Wins this week have come over Marie Bouzkova, Moyuka Uchijima (needing a third-set tie-break) and 23rd seed Magdalena Frech, again going to a final set. We tip Sabalenka to win in straight sets.
