Arthur Rinderknech vs Emil Ruusuvuori Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Chengdu Open

World number 70 Arthur Rinderknech will face off against 53rd-ranked Emil Ruusuvuori in the round of 32 at the Chengdu Open on Thursday. The winner of this match will move on to face either Alexander Bublik or Marcos Giron in the next round. After a solid clay swing, Rinderknech has yet to find his best form on the hard surface. He was unexpectedly knocked out in the opening round at Winston-Salem by lucky loser Omni Kumar in straight sets. The Frenchman then beat Diego Schwartzman and Matteo Berretini at the US Open but lost to Andrey Rublev in the last match. To date, Rinderknech has not made it past the second round of any ATP hardcourt competition this year. His only run of note came on the Challenger circuit back in February when he reached the semi-final. As it stands, Rinderknech is 21-23 for the year and 3-7 on the hard surface. As such, he is the underdog heading into this one. 

Meanwhile, Emil Ruusuvuori will come into this match full of confidence after Finland’s excellent performance at the Davis Cup last week. He helped his team earn a spot in the last eight by beating Borna Gojo and Tommy Paul in straight sets in his last two matches. That followed a third-round exit at the Cincinnati Masters, where he lost to Alexei Popyrin in three sets. The Finn had improved his ranking to inside the top 40 at the start of the clay swing back in April but has slowly slipped below the top 50 since returning to the hard court. His best performance on the surface came in Miami, where he reached the quarter-final before coming up against Jannik Sinner. Ruusuvuori’s record stands at 27-25 for the year and 13-11 on the hard court. He has met Rinderknech once on the hard in the past, back in 2020, on the Challenger circuit, and won the match in straight sets. Can he overcome the Frenchman again?
