Arthur Rinderknech is up against 19th seed Alejandro Tabilo in round two of the hard court Shanghai Masters. For the winner, their next opponent will be either 11th seed Tommy Paul or Fabio Fognini. Here's our match prediction.

Rinderknech is 62nd in the live rankings and in round one of this Masters event beat Reilly Opelka. That was a straight sets win over the American with the second set going to a tie-break. 

He's already gone one round further than last week in Beijing. In that hard court tournament, he won two qualifying matches before being beaten by Roberto Bautista Agut. His best recent run has been a semi-final in Atlanta.

Alejandro Tabilo is 23rd in the live rankings and a place higher in the ATP Race. 2024 has been a successful one for the Chilean but mainly in the first half of the year. He won two ATP Tour titles and one on the Challenger Tour circuit.

Last week saw him playing in Tokyo but he lost in the first round to Holger Rune, going down 6-4 in the final set after winning the middle one. That was his eighth consecutive defeat, all of them coming on this surface.

He won his only previous match against Rinderknech. That was played on clay in Bucharest this year with Tabilo winning in straight sets. We go for over 22.5 games to be played in this match.
