Top seed Arthur Fils and second seed Luca Van Assche will Friday battle in an all-French semifinal at the 2023 Next Gen Finals. The winner will then battle either Dominic Sticker or Hamad Medjedovic for the title. Arthur Fils has won all his three matches in Jeddah. This has allowed him to advance to the last four as winner of the Green Group. He defeated Domic Stricker in four sets in his last match. Fils has dropped at least one set in two of his three matches here. The 19-year-old has had an amazing campaign and currently has compiled a 42-23 record. He won in Lyon back in May to claim his first-ever tour title. Fils, who finished the year ranked 36th in the ATP, has won two titles across the top two levels and finished as runner-up a further two times.

Luca Van Assche has been shaky in Jeddah and has already lost in the competition. The 19-year-old was defeated by fellow semifinalist Hamad Medjedovic on matchday two in four sets. This meant that he had to win his final round-robin match to stand a chance of qualifying for the last four. He did, but he had to dig deep to defeat Alex Michelsen in five sets. The match lasted well over two hours and saw Van Assche come from 2-1 down to win. He finished second in the Red Group. Van Assche has dropped at least one set in all three of his matches in this competition. The Frenchman, who has so far compiled a 34-29 record, finished the year ranked 70th and won two challenger titles.
