Arthur Fils vs Juan Pablo Varillas Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP European Open

Two seeds meet in the last eight of the hard court European Open. Fourth seed Arthur Fils take on Juan Pablo Virallas who is seeded eighth. Potential semi-final opponents include top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas and fifth seeded Yannick Hanfmann. Fils was ranked a career high 38th at the start of this tournament and remains in that position in the live rankings. The French player is fifth in the ATP NextGen rankings so the 19-year-old should qualify for the finals. Fils is in his first quarter final since a clay court tournament held in Hamburg three months ago. He won a clay court tournament in Lyon earlier in the year but his success has not been just on that surface with semi-finals in hard court tournaments held in Montpellier and Marseille. His first match in Antwerp saw him beat wild card Mark Lajal in straight sets, both going to a tie-break.

Juan Pablo Virallas was in 69th position at the start of tihs European Open. That's nine places below his career high achieved in June of this year. The Peruvian is up to 66th in the live list after reaching this quarter final. Virallas had a straight sets win over in-form Fabian Marozsan in the first round. It wasn't such smooth progress in round two as he had to come from behind to beat Alexander Shevchenko. He lost the first set 6-3 but only dropped five games in the next two sets. It's a return to form after losing seven of his last nine matches in singles tournaments. We believe it'll be Fils who will reach the European Open semi-final.
