Wildcard Arthur Fils will make his French Open main draw debut on Monday with a first-round match with 29th seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Fils comes to this tournament after winning the Lyon Open on Saturday, his first career tour-level title. He is experiencing the best period of his young career. The win saw him make his top 100 debut, catapulting him up 49 places to number 63 in the live ranking. He has now won two titles in 2023 as he also won Oeiras II in the Challenger Circuit in January. He has a record of 24 wins and nine losses with 10 of his victories coming on clay.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina will hope his experience at tour level sees him outlast his younger opponent.
