Fifth seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina faces unseeded Arthur Cazaux in round one of the Atlanta Open. In round two, the winner of this hard court match will face either Aleksandar Kovacevic or Newport semi-finalist Reilly Opelka.

Davidovich Fokina is at 43rd in the live rankings and will be representing Spain at the Summer Olympics. That's being played on a clay court but before then, he plays in this hard court tournament. The Spaniard hasn't played since a first round exit at Queen's Club in June.

That saw him miss the Eastbourne tournament and then Wimbledon so he'll be glad of some time on court. Fokina has reached two ATP Tour quarter-finals this year, the last being in Dubai and he's 70th in the Live ATP Race. 

Arthur Cazaux is nine places below his opponent in the Live ATP Race. In the live overall rankings he's in 92nd position. The Frenchman is also having his first tournament since the European grass court season ended.

His last event was at Wimbledon where he lost in the second round to Alexander Bublik in straight sets. Cazaux has been struggling both for form and fitness. His first round win at Wimbledon is his only victory in nine matches and he's twice had to retire from matches. One was in Barcelona when suffering an ankle injury.

The best form he's shown all year has been on hard courts. He won a Challenger Tour event in January and then made it to the last 16 of the Australian Open. That was months ago and we tip Davidovich Fokina to win this match.
