Qualifier Arianne Hartono will take on unseeded Laura Siegemund in the semi-finals in Hua Hin. Their first career meeting will usher a winner to play Rebecca Sramkova or Tamara Zidansek in the final. Below are stats for this match and our prediction.

Hartono has advanced to the semi-finals of a tour tournament for the first time. She defeated Mai Hontama in the quarter-finals, coming from a set down to secure victory.

Now with just two wins needed to claim a maiden tour crown, she will fancy even more her chances. Hartono, who debuted in Hua Hin in this year’s first tournament in January, won her last five matches.

She has a 30-21 record alternating between the tour and challenger circuits and has moved 24 places in the live ranking. This leap saw her move up to 156th place.

Laura Siegemund has reached the semi-finals of a tour tournament for the first time this season. The German had lost in the quarter-finals at three events this year. Breaking this quarter-final jinx has also seen her progress to her first tour semi in over a year.

Siegemund will be confident of claiming a first title since 2017. The two-time tour champion has won two of her three matches in Hua Hin in straight sets. She defeated Rebeka Masarova by the loss of seven games in the last round.

The only match in which she required a decider also happened to be the first match since 2011 to go beyond four hours. This was the second-round showdown with fifth seed Wang Xiyu.

Siegemund, on a 22-16 record, has now moved up a massive 21 places to 78th in the live ranking.
